Prototype, the near-futuristic title that sends players a gore-filled, shape-shifting journey to find out who or what infected you, needs a lot more time to develop. In fact, Sierra is calling for another year to work out the kinks! In other words, the beginning of April 2009.
In a statement made to IGN, “Sierra Entertainment and Radical Entertainment have made the decision to shift Prototype to launch in 2009. Since its announcement, Prototype has been regarded by many as groundbreaking and taking the open-world genre in new directions, and in the simplest explanation possible, we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create.”
If you’ve seen the recently released trailer then you know this game already looks stellar, hopefully delaying the game another year will truly help to realize its full potential. Certainly the additional development time marks a massive investment by Sierra and Radical Entertainment. It should pay off! |
