There has been a lot of forum posts coming out of the UK decrying the absurdity of WiiFit’s BMI calculator. For most consumers, when WiiFit tells them they’re overweight they either already know it, laugh it off, or think the thing’s broken. Unfortunately, it looks like some users are having a hard time coping with the fact that their Wii is telling them they’re fat. One case in particular, pointed out on the CVG forums, details that of a ten year old swimmer that is muscular but not fat. Her family had a very difficult time convincing her that her body shape was fine and that she shouldn’t feel bad. Subsequently, there has been a mini-uproar brewing amongst the Nintendo faithful. One can only assume that this scenario will only be accentuated once the game come to the US. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if it became a serious talking point!
