Director Mike Newell and producer Jerry Bruckheimer have found their lead actor for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Jake Gyllenhaal, of Brokeback Mountain and Jarhead fame, will portray the athletic noble. According to Wired, “Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a 6th century Persian prince who joins up with princess Tamina (played by new Bond girl Gemma Arterton) to stop an evil nobleman from getting his grubby hands on the mystical Sands of Time.”
