According to several rumors, much speculation, and a little bit of fact, Nintendo will concentrate on appealing to “Core” gamers this year. Nintendo now has a large enough base that they feel as if roping in the core will help them solidify their early momentum. We’ll have to see if third party developers also jump on the AAA bandwagon or if they’ll remain content to shift shovelware. As for Nintendo’s prospective lineup, games such as a new Star Fox with flight stick controls, Pikmin 3, a Wii-specific Zelda title, a new Kid Icarus, The Conduit, etc. have all been thrown around the “internets.” We’ll have to wait and see what sticks at E3.
