Rumor Round-Up: Exodus from Tecmo, E3 Secrets Revealed, Nintendo to Appease Core, and more!

None

The Rumor Round-Up summarizes and highlights the most important gaming related gossip over the past week. This weekly article, in conjunction with the Week in Review, will keep you plugged in and in-tune.

According to a rumor proffered by 1up, there will be a mass exodus of development talent from Tecmo. That may include as many as three dozen seasoned developers from Team Ninja to follow Tomonobu Itagaki. To add insult to injury, they may all sue as well! Time will tell if this pans out or not. If they do all leave will we see a new indie firm?

It looks as though many E3 secrets have been revealed via a leaked marketing packet now famously known as the IntelliResponse memo. There are a host of scanned images of the marketing presentation that seem to back up the series of whoppers. It looks as though Microsoft was hardest hit. Some of the rumored features include 360 Avatars, Spider-Man Web of Shadows details, Forza 3 goodies, and a whole lot more! Click HERE for all the juicy bits.

According to several rumors, much speculation, and a little bit of fact, Nintendo will concentrate on appealing to “Core” gamers this year. Nintendo now has a large enough base that they feel as if roping in the core will help them solidify their early momentum. We’ll have to see if third party developers also jump on the AAA bandwagon or if they’ll remain content to shift shovelware. With Ubisoft’s recent announcement of PARTY ZONE titles, third party development for the console still looks bleak.

As for Nintendo’s prospective lineup, no one is sure but there are a ton of theories. Games such as a new Star Fox with flight stick controls, Pikmin 3, a Wii-specific Zelda title, and a new Kid Icarus, etc. have all been thrown around the “internets.” We’ll have to wait and see what sticks at E3.

Thanks so much everyone and we will see you next week!
