Hacker 3D Game Wreaks Havoc*

None

A new video game entitled Hacker 3D allows hacking enthusiasts to reach beyond the digital realm and wreak havoc in the material world – with nothing more than copy of this game and a PS2.

Hacker 3D brings the joy of hacking into the real world where players can actually control various electronic devices in their home. It’s the ultimate practical joke game where you can drive members of your family crazy by manipulating everything from the garage door to the TV set. As long as the device is plugged into a standard AC outlet, you can control various aspects of it. For instance, you can set father’s digital alarm clock ahead or behind, making him either early or late for work in the morning. You can turn the TV set to offensive channels while mom is watching Anne of Green Gables. Drive grandpa nuts by making his VCR flash “12:00” continuously – even after he’s figured out how to set it properly – if that should ever happen. You can even turn the radio into a microwave oven and watch his filling spark as he listens to his favorite program. You can also disable the “Clapper,” burn the toast, and with a little bit of practice you can create telephone calls from beyond in the Dead Relatives Impersonation mode.

Developers, TaTa-4-Now are exceptionally proud of their new game. “We wanted something that reached beyond the TV screen,” explains lead developer Todd Upsnod. “Something that would spill into the real world like a painting of a clown throwing up real barf. We are actually a bunch of hackers at heart but you can only break into so many banks and secret government files before you hunger for something more challenging. Thankfully we found a genius in our janitor, Henry Nofeisty who showed us how to get a free bag of chips and a soft drink from the vending machine while playing Tony Hawk on his PS2. He’s very shy, but he’s quite fat from all those free high-calorie snacks,” concludes Upsnod.

According to Nofeisty, (who is too shy to have his quotes appear in print, but agreed to whisper to our reporter from behind a dense bush) each electrical appliance generates a degree of electromagnetic feedback resistance in the electrical circuitry of the house. Each device generates its own unique feedback. It is then sensed by the PS2 and used to gain access to the microprocessors of each individual component by disguising itself as an input command from that device. Hacker 3D has more than two-hundred thousand command configurations to access virtually any appliance or other electronic device. The PS2 will actually display, onscreen, the command functions of each device you target and offer you a variety of options through the interface. You will interact with the interface via the PS2 controller. A safety feature has been implemented whereby only devices within the home of the hacker can be accessed. This way one will not be able to covet thy neighbors’ washer and dryer, so to speak. Sorry, but I have to get out of these bushes now, I think I heard a snake. You don’t have to print that part about the snake.
