Captain Rainbow to Salvage Lesser Nintendo Characters

Captain Rainbow to Salvage Lesser Nintendo Characters

None

Nintendo announced in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine that Captain Rainbow will release exclusively for the Wii. Captain Rainbow is a first party Nintendo title that pools together many of the lesser Nintendo characters that never quite made it.

Captain Rainbow (aka Nick) is the star of a fictional television series. Unfortunately, that program now suffers from a dearth of popularity. Nick decides to travel to the island of Mimin in order to save his show and his persona. While on the island, Nick meets tons of other forgotten heroes who lost popularity.

There’s not a lot of information concerning how the game will actually be played, but according to IGN, “While the game offers a variety of activities like fishing, bug collecting, and golf, the actual point of the title is being kept under wraps.” However, it is felt that a sidescrolling aspect will also be part of the title. Hopefully, we’ll find out more at E3.
