According to “several industry sources outside of Nintendo” via Kotaku, the Big N is currently working on an updated Nintendo DS. The new portable console will feature larger, more vibrant screens, and the top screen will also become tactile. Dual touch screens should allow for new development avenues, and the bigger, better screens conceivably could allow for more visceral experiences. However, knowing Nintendo, satisfying the hardcore gamers out there is not the company’s top priority. As such, don’t expect the DS2 to look too similar to the sexy mock up featured below. One can still dream though.
