According to the Internet rumor mill, Microsoft may be planning to announce a partnership with Sirius XM satellite radio. If true, expect the announcement to be made on September 25th. Players are currently able to stream satellite radio through either the PS3 or Xbox 360, but an exclusive partnership could limit access through Sony’s console and could allow for 360 owners to stream music while playing games. According to industry sources close to The Inquirer, Google may have plans to purchase Valve. This does make some sense, as Valve is not only a AAA game developer, but it also will give Google access to Valve’s Steam digital content distribution platform. Besides, “Valve marketing boss Doug Lombardi said in an interview in August that he would be ‘happy to discuss an acquisition’ with potential buyers.” In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine via GameDaily, Slash, lead guitarist of Guns ‘n Roses fame, let slip that Activision may in fact be developing a Guitar Hero: Hendrix title. While discussing the validity and legitimacy that classic bands are lending to Guitar Hero, Slash stated: “Having the Aerosmith guys do it was very cool ’cause Aerosmith’s one of the bands I was heavily influenced by. And Metallica’s doing it. Those are two ones that I think gives it some credibility. And they’re doing a Hendrix one, which is great.” Thanks so much everyone and we will see you next week! |
