After over fifteen years on the bench, once-popular Amiga star and walking parody James Pond is returning to gaming’s active roster. Last seen in the 1993 side-scrolling platformer, James Pond 3: Operation Starfish, Pond’s newest title will be eschewing the running and jumping of his previous efforts for gameplay inspired by the side-scrolling shooters of yore.  The new, aquatic-themed game—continuing the series’ satirical tradition with its title, James Pond in The Deathly Shallows—is slated for release on the iPhone and iPad in the UK app store on June 30. No word, yet, on whether the title will be available in other territories. |
