Gamescom 2011: Carbine Studios Unveils WildStar

None

NCsoft is the company behind several of those other MMORPGs that aren’t World of Warcraft, like City of Heroes, Guild Wars, Aion, Lineage II, and so on. A while back, NCsoft created Carbine Studios, a development company that, appropriately enough, is meant to create MMORPGs. And that brings us to WildStar, a new game announced at Gamescom.

WildStar is an MMO that has players colonizing a planet on the outer reaches of the universe. Players will be able to choose between several different races, classes, factions, and paths while they traverse the barren wasteland of this new planet. It sounds kind of like Fallout meets Borderlands meets Red Dead Redemption. Actually, Fallout is an appropriate comparison, since Tim Cain, the lead designer of the original Fallout, will be working on WildStar.

No launch date, platforms, or price has been revealed, but we do know that the game will have a PC version and that beta applications are open now.
