New Metal Gear Projects Announced

Konami is hard at work pushing its Meta Gear license these days. Several new Metal Gear properties have just been announced at the recent Metal Gear 25 th anniversary event. The first is Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, an open world Metal Gear game. A few people were able to play a real-time demo, but guests were asked to not post about their experiences. Still, a couple did, but Konami has been good about getting them taken off the net in quick order. We will just have to wait for more details.

The next Metal Gear announcement is for a Metal Gear social game. Yes, even Metal Gear is getting in on the social gaming craze. Entitled Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops, the game will be hitting the GREE social platform in Japan. It is being developed using the Unity Engine for smartphones and is scheduled for release in Japan this fall. No word on whether or not it will be making its way to America’s digital shores.

Finally, and perhaps most shockingly, is the announcement of a Metal Gear Solid movie. The film will be a collaboration between Columbia Pictures and Kojima productions. Avi Arad, known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man , will be producing.
