The next issue of Game Informer will feature a bevy of new information on New Super Mario Bros. U, including details on the enemies, story, worlds, and game modes of the plumbing brothers’ next-gen adventure, according to ONM.
The game’s plot is exactly what you’d expect: Bowser kidnaps Princess Peach and Mario has to go rescue her. Along the way, he’ll have to jump on hordes of the big Koopa’s lackeys, occasionally setting them on fire with his bare hands.
Seven worlds have been revealed thus far, including the tropical Sparkling Waters, the food-filled Layer Cake Desert, Acorn Plains, Frosted Glacier, a couple of areas similar to the Forest of Illusion from Super Mario World and Sky World from Super Mario Bros. 3, and a still-unnamed world featuring a tornado.
In addition, New Super Mario Bros. U will also contain a new Boost Rush mode, which sees the levels automatically scroll without stopping and challenges players to keep up.
