Obsidian Takes Project Eternity DRM Free

Obsidian Takes Project Eternity DRM Free

You wanted it, you got it. In a touching Twitter exchange just the other day, famed RPG developer Obsidian and digital distribution house GOG.com expressed their mutual affection for one another, which has led to a new option for the already-totally-funded-but-you-should-donate-anyway-to-make-it-even-better Project Eternity Kickstarter.

Those who purchase a digital version of Project Eternity will now have the option as to whether they want to redeem the title on Valve’s popular and ubiquitous Steam service or through GOG.com, the latter of which is entirely DRM free.

It’s almost too good to be true. Obsidian’s Kickstarter has turned into something of an all-around renaissance for the hopes of cRPG gamers who fondly remember the likes of Fallout, Icewind Dale, Baldur’s Gate, and Planescape: Torment. And now they’re showing both trust in and appreciation for their fan base. Is it any wonder their Kickstarter was such a smashing success?
