Nintendo has recently detailed three upcoming DLC packs for New Super Mario Bros. 2. The first pack is the “Go! Go! Gold Mario Pack” which features courses themed around the Gold Mario power-up. Players can earn up to 30,000 coins in these courses, which makes them perfect for perfectionists. The second pack is the “Challenge the Record A Pack” which challenges players to earn the highest score in the world. High scores in this DLC pack’s levels will be posted on the game’s website, and there will be a fight to hold onto the title of number one. Finally, there is the “Survival Panic Pack,” which is an extra-hard set of levels that will really test players’ coin collecting skills.
All of these DLC packs are for Coin Rush mode only. They will be out on October 2 in Japan and will retail for 200 yen each. The status of an eventual American release is as of yet unknown, but it’s likely we will see them hit our digital shores sooner or later.
