Street Fighter X Tekken Gets Free Update This December

Street Fighter X Tekken Gets Free Update This December

Following in the footsteps of Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition: Version 2012, Street Fighter X Tekken will be receiving a free title update called Street Fighter X Tekken Version 2013. This new gameplay update will fix a number of complaints fans have had with the game.

Firstly, the update will tweak the speed at which recoverable health regenerates. This will address problems with excessive timeouts by making it easier for the damage you deal to stick. Tekken characters will have improved anti-air techniques, allowing them to juggle jumping opponents easier. Every character will receive move changes and balance tweaks in the new version, addressing imbalances and overpowered characters.

In addition, the game will be receiving several aesthetic updates as well. Recoverable health will be tinted orange to make it easier to see. Boost combos will have less cinematic camera work allowing the match to progress quicker. The glowing gem effect will also be reduced, making it less distracting.

Fans had high hopes for Street Fighter X Tekken when it first game out, but issues with gems, infinites, bugs, and slow gameplay made it fall out of the public spotlight far too quickly. Hopefully the Version 2013 patch will breathe some life back into the game.
