Capcom Announces Brand New Street Fighter X Tekken Update Details

Capcom Announces Brand New Street Fighter X Tekken Update Details

Last week we reported on an upcoming patch to Street Fighter X Tekken called Street Fighter X Tekken Version 2013. This patch is meant to balance and reinvigorate the fighter, much like version 2012 did to Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.

This past weekend at New York Comic Con, Capcom announced several more details about the future of Street Fighter X Tekken in general, and the future starts with the Vita.

The Vita version of Street Fighter X Tekken will launch in two weeks and will come with a brand new Cross-Link feature that lets you use your PS Vita as a console controller. This will allow you to use touch panel controls on the big screen. Depending on what the touch panel controls do, this could be incredibly game-breaking. For example, it could let you execute charge moves without charge time, like Guile was able to do in Street Fighter IV on the 3DS.

Capcom also announced a hard release date for the “alternate costume packs.” These costumes, which were previously discovered to be on the disc, give every character some sort of wacky alternate outfit. For example, Elena can dress up as a schoolgirl and Cody can dress up as a member of the Mad Gear gang. They will be available to purchase legitimately on October 30 th .

We haven’t heard anything more about the version 2013 patch than we already know, but Capcom has promised that full patch notes will come in the future. For now, the game is looking to be much faster paced, far better balanced, and more visually appealing.
