Hawken, that free-to-play mech combat game coming out in December, has finished its second alpha phase and, as such, the developers are ready to enter closed beta.
According to a post they’ve made on their site’s forums, they’ll be expanding the participant pool for this test; those who were already in the second alpha will be automatically invited to the closed beta, but Meteor Entertainment will also be releasing codes for the beta via Twitter and Facebook.
Playable as far back as E3, Hawken is a fast-paced multiplayer shooter that combines familiar first-person shooter mechanics with the more deliberate pacing of an old school mech combat game. This closed beta is anticipated to run in a few weeks, stretching from October 26 to October 29. The game itself should be out for all to play on Wednesday, December 12.
