Insomniac Isn’t Done With Ratchet & Clank

Insomniac Isn’t Done With Ratchet & Clank

It’s been a pretty eventful year for the folks over at Insomniac Games. Their very first third-party release, Fuse, is now a mere four months away from launch. This will be the company’s first title to make it’s way onto a non-Sony platform. In addition, they’ve announced the end of the Resistance trilogy. Naturally, fans of Ratchet & Clank, the franchise that put Insomniac Games on the map, wondered if the publisher would distance themselves from that series following the release of Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault.

However, Isomniac has assured us that this is not the case.

Over at the PlayStation blog , fans been asking about the future of the Ratchet and Clank. And Insomniac Community Lead, James Stevenson, answered some questions for about whether or not we’ve seen the last of Ratchet and Clank:

“We definitely don’t think Ratchet & Clank have run out of adventures yet :-)” Stevenson said.

Then, when asked if we’d see countless sports spin-offs ala Mario, Stevenson continued “We were thinking Ratchet & Clank Intergalactic Football, actually. Who knows? We aren’t stopping making Ratchet & Clank games, and aside from A41, every major game in the series has been classic Ratchet & Clank.”

So there you go. Even though Insomniac pulled the plug on one Sony franchise and is now a third-party studio getting ready to release a game on the Xbox 360, they won’t abandon the franchise that put them on the map.

Now let’s hope they actually do release Ratchet & Clank Intergalactic Football. That sounds pretty awesome.
