PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Gets Some New Blood

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Gets Some New Blood

Joystiq recently got a chance to sit down with Superbot entertainment in order to talk about upcoming DLC for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. The first three pieces of DLC will include two new characters and one new stage.

The first DLC character is Kat from the recent PS Vita release, Gravity Rush. Superbot’s director, Omar Kendall, said that Kat was the most requested first party character. She is a light and quick character that revolves around combos, much like Dante, Raiden, and the other combo-centric characters the game has to offer. Her supers allow her to play with gravity, fire off projectiles, and even release the power of her cat.

The second DLC character to enter the Battle Royale is Emmett Graves of Starhawk. Emmett attacks with a variety of hand to hand techniques and firearms, much like Radec or Nathan Drake. However, his most unique abilities allow him to build Starhawk structures on the battlefield. One of his supers, for example, allows him to call down a turret that will kill anyone it fires on.

The third piece of DLC is a stage based on Heavenly Sword and Wipeout. The level starts on a platform with a Wipeout track in the background. However, soon the entire level falls into a canyon, wrecking the track and causing a variety of elemental hazards. The stage is not yet finished, and we are likely to see more Heavenly Sword elements introduced in its final build.

While no more DLC has yet been announced, Kendall said that the team will continue to support PSABR with new DLC as long as there is demand.
