Black Mesa: Uplink Released By Modders

Black Mesa: Uplink Released By Modders

Black Mesa is a project created by modders to recreate the original Half Life on the Source engine. After a lengthy development cycle, the volunteer team finally released it to the public this past September to positive reaction. Now, they’ve quickly turned around and released a Source driven version of Uplink, the 1999 demo for Half Life.

Black Mesa: Uplink comes in two different forms; you can download either the installer or the mod in zip form. Unlike Black Mesa, which is missing the final chapters of Half Life 1, Uplink has been fully converted with the Source engine. For gamers that might be too young to remember when Half Life was released, the demo not only sold many people on Valve’s breakout game, but also features content that didn’t make the final cut for the retail release.

No word yet if Uplink will become available through Steam or not, but Black Mesa, on the other hand, is currently ready for you to download.
