Legend Of Zelda Legos Rejected At Final Stage

Legend Of Zelda Legos Rejected At Final Stage

A while back, LEGO setup a website to allow fans cast their votes for what might become the next LEGO set. Well, it turns out that there is a lot of crossover between the gaming world and the LEGO world, as a Legend of Zelda themed set got over 10,000 votes of support.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the Zelda-themed LEGO set will ever see the light of day. Even with the overwhelming fan support, it just didn’t make sense from a business perspective. According to LEGO, multiple new molds would be required in order to create the figures (i.e. the LEGO versions of Link, Zelda, and Gannondorf) and The cost of making those molds is just too much to justify making a new set.

So, once again, good business sense stands in the way of something hilariously fun. Stupid businessmen and their calculators.

The good news, however, is that LEGO has decided to move forward with a Back to the Future themed set. So, at least nerds will have something new to play with.
