Investor calls are a part of the video game business. Shareholders need to know what a studio has planned, which means studios can’t hold any secrets. Of course, we live in the Internet age, which allows transcripts of said investor calls to be made available publicly. So, the gaming public finally has access to all ofthe information that wealthy shareholders do.
In a Time Warner investor call, John K. Martin, Time Warner’s CFO and CAO, said that things were looking up. “We have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.” Though the game hasn’t been officially confirmed, there is no source more reliable than Time Warner itself.
Of course, this has cause all kinds of rumors and speculation. It’s possible that we will be seeing a direct sequel to Akrham City. It’s also possible this next game is the “Silver Age” prequel we have heard rumors about. Perhaps it’s a new Arkham property all together. Hopefully E3 will have more to show us.
