City Of Heroes Inducted Into MMO Hall Of Fame

City Of Heroes Inducted Into MMO Hall Of Fame

The downfall of City of Heroes came as quite a surprise. The loss was especially hard for those of us who had long held a torch for the first and longest-lived super-hero MMO. Though we may never again sail through the skies of Paragon City, the game’s memory will at least see some degree of posthumous honor as one of five new inductees to the MMO Hall of Fame for 2013.

City of Heroes is joined by RuneScape, Asheron’s Call, Dark Age of Camelot, and Meridian 59 in this year’s additions. Of note, all of these, save for City of Heroes, are still running in some capacity. Even Meridian 59, notable for being among the first graphically represented online role-playing games, is still kicking. It makes the loss of City of Heroes, unique in a sea of tired fantasy tropes, all the more upsetting.
