Disney’s Epic Mickey 2 Coming to Vita

Disney’s Epic Mickey 2 Coming to Vita

Junction Point Studios, the developer who made Disney’s Epic Mickey titles, has been closed down—mostly because of the Epic Mickey games. However, even though Epic Mickey 2 seems to be the cause of the studio’s eventual downfall, Disney is still willing to bring the game to the PS Vita later this year. The Vita version of the game was announced via the European PlayStation Blog, so it is unclear as to whether or not it will be getting a Vita release stateside.

Epic Mickey 2’s Vita edition will come with a couple of new features. For example, the touch screen can be used when painting for better accuracy. The system’s tilt controls will also be used for racing portions. Players will also be able to use “two-player wi-fi co-op” which is described as a co-op mode that players can use “anywhere, anytime.” It’s not clear whether or not this is Internet based or if it can be used via a local connection.

So, Disney is releasing a game that was received poorly enough to close a studio on a console that is currently warring with the Wii U over who can post the lowest sales numbers. Forgive me, but I don’t see the logic in that. Perhaps that’s why I’m not a businessman.
