Shin Megami Tensei IV Confirmed For North America

Shin Megami Tensei IV Confirmed For North America

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been eying Shin Megami Tensei IV since it was first announced for the 3DS. It’s the first full-fledged entry in the main SMT series since Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, back on the PlayStation 2, and is already out in Japan. There, a special edition 3DS XL was available, which fans are already praying will also make its way over here.

For now, though, confirmation of the actual game will have to suffice. Involving demon collection and a philosophy of choice and consequence, Shin Megami Tensei IV is billed as a true successor to Nocturne, with Atlus talking up the talent on the team. That talent includes some who worked on Nocturne, but also developers from Strange Journey, Soul Hackers, and the much-beloved Persona series.

Shin Megami Tensei IV is currently slated for a summer release, exclusive to the 3DS. It is being billed as a “premium” title, and will be sold at the $49.99 price-point.
