XCOM Website And Videos Disappear, Evidence Points To Rebranding

2K Games appears to have taken down the official website for their upcoming XCOM shooter. The game, which many have assumed to be canceled, was a squad-based shooter that took place in the XCOM universe. Very few details about the game are known, but it sounds like 2K was crafting some kind of strategy/shooter hybrid.

The game first debuted at E3 in 2010, and we hadn’t heard much about it since. Now, it appears as if the game may be rebranded. Last month, 2K registered a number of domains related to something titled The Bureau . Additionally, 2K registered a number of domain names that somehow include the number 62 . Whathappenedin62.com is one of these domains, but we’re not entirely sure how they’re planning to use them. The XCOM shooter project was set in 1962, which has lead many to speculate that The Bureau is a rebranding of 2K’s XCOM title.

Very little information is available about The Bureau. Hopefully we will hear more about it as we get closer to E3. For now, though, you can still find the XCOM gameplay videos on sites like Dailymotion or Youtube, but you might have to look pretty hard.
