Gears Of War: Judgment Isn’t Worth Much

Gears Of War: Judgment Isn’t Worth Much

Despite a hype train leading up to its release, Gears of War: Judgment failed to live up to the lofty numbers of its forebears at retail. Gears of War 3 moved 2 million units in its first month, but Judgment sold a mere 425,000. That’s still more than many games will ever manage, but despite that, and reviews that leave the game with a Metacritic score just shy of 80, Amazon is taking the latest Gears game in for trade for a mere 25 cent return.

Even the original Gears of War pulls 75 cents, the third title in the series managing to break the dollar mark in value.

Could demand for Judgment be so low and stock of the title so high that the game is actually worth less to Amazon than the value of the materials it’s packaged in? It’s a mad, mad world.
