Nordic Games Wins Big At THQ Auction

Nordic Games Wins Big At THQ Auction

THQ’s closure was a sad affair, and their recent bankruptcy auctions have only reminded us of that. Luckily, the final auction has brought good news to the fans of several THQ franchises that were cast aside at the initial IP auction. Swedish publisher Nordic Games put $4.9 million on the table to walk away with Darksiders, Destroy All Humans!, Red Faction, and nearly a dozen other names.

Darksiders’ sale is especially good to see, given the popularity that the current installments have wrought. It’s a wise purchase on ol’ Nordic’s part as well, considering the series already has two more entries spelled out for them in the form of Famine and Pestilence, the Horsemen we’ve yet to hear from.

Nordic Games Group AB CEO Lars Wingefors commented on the massive purchase, saying “First and foremost we are very happy about this deal which also turns over a new leaf for the entire Nordic Games Group.”

Let’s hope their optimism is reciprocated in future installments of their newly acquired franchises.
