Activision Blizzard Reboots Titan Project

Activision Blizzard Reboots Titan Project

A while back, we heard news that Blizzard would be working on a brand new MMO called Titan . Unfortunately, we haven’t heard much about the project since then. Now, it appears as if Blizzard is scrapping all the work they’ve done so far and starting from scratch.

A hundred developers were working on the project, but that number had been reduced to a meager thirty. The seventy other positions have been reassigned to work on other projects. The new core team will begin working on the project again from scratch. Blizzard expects the game to launch in 2016 (at the earliest).

Blizzard spokesman Shon Damron had this to say about the matter: “We’ve always had a highly iterative development process, and the unannounced MMO is no exception. We’ve come to a point where we need to make some large design and technology changes to the game. We’re using this opportunity to shift some of our resources to assist with other projects while the core team adapts our technology and tools to accommodate these new changes. Note that we haven’t announced any dates for the MMO.”
