I am disproportionately excited about the Shadow Warrior remake. Based on the same engine that powered such titles as Blood and Duke Nukem 3D, Shadow Warrior had a stereotypical (offensively so) far-East vibe to it. That the new game is being helmed by Flying Wild Hog—a company that produced out one of the best traditional shooters in years, Hard Reset—just makes it all the more exciting.
But maybe you’ve never played the original. If you’re of an age where violent content and adult themes (though never mature ones) aren’t likely to bother you, now’s the perfect time to jump in and play through Lo Wang’s 1997 adventure. The original Shadow Warrior is currently available for free on Steam.
Now, don’t I feel silly for picking it up during the GOG sale last weekend.
