New Splinter Cell Game Being Planned For Next Generation Consoles

Scott Lee, the art director on Splinter Cell: Blacklist, has recently said that Ubisoft is working on a next generation Splinter Cell title. “Sam Fisher and Splinter Cell [are] a big and very important franchise for Ubisoft, and yes they do support the franchise,” Lee said in an interview with Arabic Gamers. “Obviously we’re working very hard on current-gen systems and we’re super excited that we’re going to be across all platforms.”

Lee went on to say that he couldn’t talk about Ubisoft’s specific plans for the next generation, however he assured Splinter Cell fans that Sam Fisher will be returning and that he will be participating in even bigger adventures on next generation consoles.

The latest title in the series, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, will launch on August 20 th in North America and August 23 rd in Europe for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U. There are currently no plans to bring this title to the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.

Ubisoft has previously announced that they have several unannounced titles in the works for next-generation consoles. One of these unannounced titles is likely a next generation Splinter Cell game. We will be able to find out more details on Ubisoft’s upcoming release schedule when we visit their booth and press conference this year at E3.
