Terraria Is Going Mobile This Summer

Terraria Is Going Mobile This Summer

After finding success through its original Steam release, as well as a later XBLA version, Terraria is now heading to yet another platform. Following the recently-announced Vita version of the game, publisher 505 Games has now confirmed three new mobile platforms for the 2D side-scrolling hit: iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 8.

In conjunction with the mobile counterpart’s announcement, developer Codeglue said that, far from a verbatim port, the newest version of the game is said to have been redesigned to integrate touch screen controls and Facebook screenshot functionality. 505 Games also went on to say that “every aspect of the game has been tweaked and balanced to give players the perfect on-the-go Terraria experience.”

How exactly those tweaks and balances will be implemented has yet to be fully disclosed. The same can be said for the game’s release date, leaving “summer 2013” as the only estimate.
