Halo: Spartan Assault Announced

Halo: Spartan Assault Announced

After Steven Spielberg announced that Halo TV Show, fans everywhere have been dying to hear what the next Halo game is going to be. Well, the next installment in the Halo series, Halo: Spartan Assault, has been announced, but it’s probably not what fans were hoping for.

Halo: Spartan Assault is a top-down shooter that will be exclusive to Windows 8 tablets, smartphones, and PCs. Developed by Vanguard Games, the company behind other top down shooters like Gatling Gears, and 343 Industries, the current developer of Halo, Spartan Assault will be a 28-mission, twin-stick shooter that will recreate classic Halo battles. The game will be set between the events of Halo 3 and Halo 4.

Spartan Assault will issue daily and weekly challenges to its players. Completing the events will actually allow players to unlock rewards in Halo 4. All off this Halo 4 content will be new and exclusive to Spartan Assault players.

Spartan Assault will, unfortunately, not be a universal app for Windows 8 devices. Players will have to purchase each version (PC, Tablet, and Phone) separately. However, if they do own multiple versions they will be able to pause the game on one device and pick it up on another. The game will be released in July for $6.99.
