Capcom Counting Down To Year 30

Capcom Counting Down To Year 30

It seems like everything is having an anniversary. We just recently celebrated 25 years of Zelda, Metroid, and Mario with Nintendo, while Capcom partied hard for Street Fighter and somewhat more quietly for Mega Man. The latter, though, is now ready to celebrate their overall 30 th anniversary, for which they’ve put up a countdown clock on their Japanese webpage.

The end of the countdown coincides with midnight on June 11, the first day of E3.

It seems incredibly likely that Capcom plans to reveal something related to its anniversary at the trade show. Hopefully something a little more compelling than a statuette or tchotchke. Maybe even a new game? Something that adequately encapsulates the three-decade history of the publisher? A mashup game of some kind with older favorites, like Captain Commando, making an appearance would be a stellar way to pique fans’ interest.

For now, you can leave an anniversary note on the website itself.
