Playdead Confirms Cross-Buy Support For LIMBO’s Vita Release

Playdead Confirms Cross-Buy Support For LIMBO’s Vita Release

Though the recent announcement of LIMBO being ported to the Vita stirred up quite a bit of excitement, many were left wondering if the rerelease would stay true to the handheld’s cross-platform functionality. In response to frequent questioning, developer Playdead has today confirmed that the Vita version of LIMBO will support Sony’s cross-buy system. However, this applies only to those who purchase the $15 rerelease through the Vita’s PSN, and does not grant PS3 owners who purchased LIMBO back in 2011 a free copy.

The indie puzzle-platformer was originally developed by Playdead alone, while the Vita version has been a collaborative project between Playdead and Double Eleven. To the relief of many, Playdead CEO Dino Patti has repeatedly stated that the game will be converted “without compromising the experience.”

Double Eleven played a big role in the PSP version of LittleBigPlanet as well, so we can expect the same ethereal gameplay from the coming Vita remake.
