After the latest press preview round, SEGA is rolling forward toward the release of Relic’s new RTS, Company of Heroes 2. The next step? An open beta of the game’s multiplayer mode. For those who didn’t get a chance to play it during the game’s closed beta, we have a preview of that multiplayer here.
Even for those who did, there’s incentive to take part in the open beta: any progression one makes in the online mode, and anything they unlock, will be retained if the full retail release of the game is purchased within 60 days of launch by the same Steam account that participates in the open beta.
This is a terrific opportunity to get a head start on the title’s first 45 levels of multiplayer progression and the unlocks therein. For those who are more interested in the single-player campaign, we invite you to check out our impressions. For everyone else, just mark your calendars for June 25 and salivate in the interim.
