The popular D&D MMO Neverwinter is currently crawling through its beta period, and RPG players everywhere have developed a fondness for table-top inspired games. Riding the wave of popularity, a small group of developers has released the original Baldur’s Gate , the text-based adventure that many say started it all, as an HD-remade mod for Neverwinter Nights 2 and its expansions.
Baldur’s Gate: Reloaded , as the remake is called, was a seven-year project developed by a small team of developers looking to break into the games industry. Led by Drew Rechner, the team consisted of Shallina, Greg Scheider, Andy Kaste and Sebastien Raymond—depending on when you asked.
Reloaded is currently available for free via Nexus Mods, but requires the original Neverwinter Nights 2 and all subsequent expansions to be played (totaling about $20).
