DayZ Creator Set’s Date For Alpha Release

DayZ Creator Set’s Date For Alpha Release

DayZ fans have been waiting for the standalone version of the game for a while now but haven’t heard any news about when the title is supposed to go live. Well, good news! Creator Dean Hall has said that they have narrowed down the alpha’s release to a week-long release window. When is that week? He’s not telling!

“We’re not going to say when that is,” he said, “because we were originally going to release them in 50,000 key increments but we decided to do everything altogether.”

Hall hasn’t had much luck with release date promises. The alpha was originally supposed to be available on Christmas of 2012. Unfortunately, they missed that date, which caused a bit of fan outrage in the DayZ fanbase. Perhaps not mentioning the proposed release window is a good thing.

On the upside, Hall said that the game will be running in 60FPS and will support graphical hardware like the Oculus Rift.
