Sunset Overdrive Will Feature An Offline Campaign

Sunset Overdrive Will Feature An Offline Campaign

The big news in gaming today? Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive will have an offline campaign in addition to its much advertised multiplayer mode. Sure, it seems weird that a game having a single-player mode would be news, but with games like Titanfall going multiplayer only, it’s still worth reporting. Plus, the fact that Sunset Overdrive appears to be more like an MMO than anything else makes it even more surprising.

Developer Insomniac said that they are planning to create a full single-player campaign that can be played offline. However, extra content for the game will be hosted on the cloud. Insomniac went on to say that the world will grow and thrive based on user feedback, so an online connection is certainly preferred.

Much of what Sunset Overdrive has to offer is still up in the air. The video at Microsoft’s E3 press conference was completely CGI and is, according to Insomniac, “A vision of the game.” What the final game will look like is still pretty mysterious.
