Index Corporation, Atlus’s parent company has registered Persona5.jp. Being that Atlus is the developer behind the popular Persona series, this has led many to assume that Persona 5 is finally in development.
However, nothing has been confirmed.
Persona totally skipped the current generation of consoles. The last Persona game we saw was Persona 4 on the PS2, which made a recent trip to the PS Vita.
However, Index Corporation recently filed for bankruptcy and is being investigated for fraud. So, they’ve got a few other things to worry about.
Though, it would be foolish for Atlus to wait on a new Persona title. The franchise is well regarded and fans have been crossing their fingers for a very long time. So while this isn’t exactly a confirmation of Persona 5 , I wouldn’t be surprised if a big announcement was just around the corner.
