Deep Down Will Be Free to Play

Deep Down Will Be Free to Play

Deep Down is the crazy, new dragon-fighting Dark Souls-style game that was hyped as one of the big, new titles for the PlayStation 4. However, it’s not going to be the game you think it is. While most people are expecting another 60-dollar difficulty addiction, Sony President Shuhei Yoshida recently confirmed that the game will be free to play. He also mentioned that an open beta for the game will be available near the launch of the PS4’s Japanese release . What does the free-to-play model mean for this admittedly graphically stunning game? Well, it means that Capcom will have to make its money in other ways. Microtransactions seem to be the natural choice, though a monthly fee is also a possibility, with the free version of the game simply allowing for far more restricted capabilities. We will have to wait and see what producer Yoshinori Ono has to say about this pricing model.
