OK, stand back while I drop this bomb shell on you… Grand Theft Auto V …is kind of popular. According to a recent top 10 chart released in the UK, GTA V has become the fastest-selling game of all time in the UK–a title once held by Call of Duty: Black Ops. GTA V has managed to earn over a billion dollars in just a few short days of its release. Interesting enough, Saints Row IV (a game many felt was trying to capitalize on the Grand Theft Auto V hype ) sits at the number four spot on the chart.
According to reports, GTA V is not only as well-received among gamers in the UK as it is here in the states, but finds its popularity pretty much split right down the middle. Sales show that both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners love the game almost equally, with the Xbox 360 winning out just by a few percentage points. Despite its technical issues, the popularity of GTA only continues to grow worldwide. The next chapter of its release will come on October 1st with GTA Online , and is free to anyone who buys a copy of GTA V. You’ll see it build on popular game mechanics found in other GTA games but will expand it further via the online community.
