Square Offering Free Final Fantasy XIV World Transfers

Square Offering Free Final Fantasy XIV World Transfers

If you were one of the first players to adopt the new Final Fantasy XIV, you probably has problems signing on to the world where all your friends played. In fact, the servers were so loaded Square actually had to stop selling digital copies of the game at one point. Luckily, Square Enix understands the plight of Final Fantasy XIV gamers everywhere, and is going to make finding your friends a little bit easier. It is offering Final Fantasy XIV users a free world transfer as a part of an apology for the issues users encountered when starting the game.

Final Fantasy XIV producer Naoki Yoshida posted a full apology to players who experienced these problems. He said that players are welcome to switch worlds, but there are some risks involved. When transferring your accounts, you may have to rename your character (if someone already shares your name), you may lose your money, and due to player congestion in certain worlds you may experience log-in congestion, much like players did when the game first released.

Yoshida did not give a concrete date for the launch of the world transfer service, but did say that players would be able to transfer their character from world to world at no cost for the first five days.
