Atlus Announces Persona 4 Arena: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold for PS3

Atlus Announces Persona 4 Arena: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold for PS3

Welcome to Persona Day everyone! Recently, Atlus announced four, yes four, new games in the Persona series, and today, we cover them all. Up second on the list is the absurdly long-titled sequel to Atlus’ well recieved Persona 4 Arena fighting game spin-off, Persona 4 Arena: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold.

The game will feature several new characters, many of which will be joining the fray from Persona 3 . Junpei and Yukari will be playable, as well as new character Sho Minazuki. The game will feature several new mechanics, including the ability to choose “shadow” versions of each of the cast. Shadow characters give up their ability to burst in exchange for the ability to rapidly gain meter and perform moves with various changed properties.

The game has been confirmed for Japanese arcades for some time now, but this is the first word of the game coming to home consoles. It will see a release on the PS3 (no, not the PS4) exclusivley next summer. Note: for now, it has only been confirmed for a Japanese release, but it is very likely we will see a localized port.

We will bring you more information on Persona 4 Arena: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold as it becomes available.
