Twitch.TV Removes PlayStation 4 Playroom Channel

Twitch.TV Removes PlayStation 4 Playroom Channel

Congratulations Internet! We now have the first game to be banned from Twitch.TV for non-gaming related content. You guys just really know how to ruin a nice thing.

The game in question is PS4’s Playroom demo. For those of you who don’t know, Playroom is an augmented reality game that allows you to control your virtual surroundings via the PlayStation camera. However, some users got the great idea to use this as sort of a virtual studio in order to put on talk shows and other gaming related media. Some, like The Spartan Show, were actually quite good and focused on games and gaming strategy. However, a dissapointing amount of these streams were simply outlets for people to RANDOMLY SHOW ME THEIR GENETALIA! Yes, the PS4 has become the new chat roulette. I’m speaking from an unfortunate amount of personal experience here.

Twitch.TV has taken action to save us from this dickstorm. Recently, the company has banned Playroom streams from their game rotation citing that they have done so because “the majority of content was not gaming related.” That’s a nice way of saying “too many dicks on the dance floor.”  Twitch has said that they will “look into adding it back as PS4 owners become more familliar with the games-only focus of Twitch content.”

So… yeah. The immaturity of the intenret has caused us to lose quite the outlet of creativity. Here’s a tip Playroom streamers. If you feel the need to show your junk to other PS4 users, it’s probably not all that impressive.
