Bayonetta 2 Producer Voices Discontent for “Port-Begging” from Fans

Bayonetta 2 Producer Voices Discontent for “Port-Begging” from Fans

The Creative Producer behind the upcoming Bayonetta 2 , JP Kellems of Platinum Games, has voiced rather openly his discontent for Bayonetta fans who allegedly continue to ask and plead why Bayonetta 2 won’t be coming out for other consoles than the Wii U.

Kellem explains in a couple tweets that he is quite reserved about posting updates of Bayonetta 2’s development on Platinum Games official Facebook page, because of the “pedantic port-begging” that will ensue shortly after.

“I hate posting anything Bayonetta 2 on our Facebook. Not because I hate Bayonetta 2 , but because I hate the pedantic port-begging,” Kellems tweeted . “It’s been over a year since we announced. We heard you. We get it. We are just happy that we get to make Bayonetta 2 for the patient fans,” he continued .

I can understand why there would be perturbed Bayonetta fans wanting its sequel to come to the platform that they frequently play on, and I can also understand why Kellems is hella annoyed at the constant questions, demands and complaints about the fact othat Bayonetta 2 is a Wii U exclusive, but i have no doubt that it’s just white noise to him by now. Repetition can be very annoying in certain circumstances or situations.

Considering that it’s thanks to Nintendo that Bayonetta 2 is being developed in the first place, it’s understandable why Bayonetta 2 would be a Wii U exclusive. In the end it may even be a positive to the Wii U console itself, Lord knows the poor thing needs the sales. That’s assuming diehard-anti-Wii-U Bayonetta fans don’t boycott it of course.

I’m not really fussed by this whole thing anyway, so my perspective on this story may be different than yours. I don’t exactly plan on buying Bayonetta 2, or even a Wii for that matter, any time soon, but viewing this from the third-person leaves my pondering on the amount of persistence these fans have, and the possibility of it having a detrimental effect on the drive and passion of the studio behind the game.

Nonetheless, Platinum appear to be sticking to their guns with this exclusivity deal for the Wii U, and that I can respect.
