Pokémon Bank Drops Next Friday

Pokémon Bank Drops Next Friday

The Cloud will come to the world of Pokémon next Friday on December 27 as the Pokémon Bank , a free software download that essentially stores your pokémon in the Cloud.

Showcased today in a nicely presented trailer released by The Pokémon Company International, Pokémon Bank will allow you to store up to 3000 pokémon in private boxes via an internet connection. It will also allow you to transfer over multiple pokémon at one time from different copies of either Pokémon X and / or Y (including downloadable versions) and you will be able to transfer pokémon from Pokémon Black / White onwards using Poké Transporter (my personal favorite feature of Pokémon Bank ), which in turn will allow you to transfer all your previously caught pokémon to X / Y (making my task of transferring 649 of the little buggers a lot easier).

The only ever-so-slight bugbear I find with this service is that it’s subscription-based, but even then the subscription is minor , which is pretty much nothing for most people. However, between December 27 (when Pokémon Bank drops) and January 31, 2014, you will receive a free 30-day trial pass with the application, which gives you full access and functionalities of both Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter at no charge. After this period of time, though, the subscription will b e £4.49/€4.99 per year .

If you’re in need of storing a ton of pokémon and / or transferring hundreds of them on a regular basis, that kind of price is well worth it. If you’re not doing that sort of stuff regularly, then the 30-day trial may be a more fitting option for you.
