Renowned Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada is incredibly busy over at Namco Bandai, but unfortunately he isn’t busy on Tekken . In a recent interview with 4Gamer, Harada said that 2013 was a year in which he was involved in “efforts to change the structures of the gaming industry.” He was specifically referring to how Tekken went free to play with Tekken Revolution . In 2014, Harada will be working on several other titles alongside Tekken , and is looking to announce at least two of those titles in 2014 saying “Probably I’ll announce New 2 or 3 titles in this year. But it’s not Tekken . Tekken announcement = secret now.”
There are a lot of Tekken games that fans have been waiting for. Tekken X Street Fighter is still only a glimmer of hope after Street Fighter x Tekken had a less than stellar reception. Tekken 7 is the single player game Tekken fans really want, outside of Tekken Revolution ’s free to play release. But what could these other games be? More fighting games? It has been a while since we saw a brand new competitive fighting game IP from Namco Bandai. Maybe the time has come to see some new 3D fighting game blood enter the arena.
