Capcom Shows Off New Strider Moves

Capcom Shows Off New Strider Moves

If you have played Marvel vs Capcom before, you are probably familiar with Strider’s robot friends including a robot hawk, a robot panther, and robot satellites. Well, these robot buddies will be returning in the upcoming release of Strider , a brand new 2D platforming game featuring our favorite cyber ninja. Recently, Capcom unveiled brand new screenshots of Strider utilizing “Option A” otherwise known as Ouroboros by fighting game fans. As you would expect, Option A causes two satellites to orbit around Strider and fire projectiles every time he swings his sword, just like it works in Marvel vs. Capcom . However, unlike MvC , Option A can also form a shield around Strider and even hack doors and computer terminals.

The new screenshots also show off Kazakh City, a level that throws back to Striders original outings on the NES. Strider will have to go underground to evade his robotic enemies here, including what appears to be a giant robotic millipede that can curl into a ball and hurl itself at you. Other screen shots include a corridor with spikes on each side and whirling blades in the middle, which is almost reminiscent of a sadistic Prince of Persia stage, and a conversation between Strider and a hooded figure with a fu-man-chu mustache.

Strider will release on Feburary 22 nd for the PS3 and PS4 in Japan. An American release date has not yet been given, though we know the game should be localized in American territories. The game will also see release on the Xbox 360, Xbox One and on Windows PC platforms but release dates for these platforms haven’t yet been given either.
